Alberto Fasulo to attend 22nd FSF as guest of honour
We are pleased to announce that the Italian director Alberto Fasulo will be attending this year’s FSFS as the guest of honour in the Coproduction Meeting with Italian filmmakers and representatives of the main Italian film institutions. Fasulo is known for his highly successful docufiction film TIR (2013), the 2013 winner of the Golden Marc Aurelio Award for best film at the Rome Film Festival featuring a captivating performance from Branko Završan as a truck driver whose endless driving jobs through the maze of European motorways take him further and further away from his family. This year’s FSF will bring a screening of Fasulo’s latest film, Menocchio, a minimalist drama set in the time of counter-reformation, when a simple miller is persecuted by the Inquisition for his unorthodox religious views. The film premiered at the 2018 Locarno festival. The screening in Portorož will be followed by a Q&A with the director about his universal tale of timeless commitment to human values.
