Janez Bricelj to receive 2025 Badjura Award

The Milka and Metod Badjura Award for lifetime achievement in cinema is traditionally presented during the Festival of Slovenian Film Portorož Opening Gala in the Main Hall of Avditorij Portorož. This year’s judges – Jerca Jerič, Matjaž Žbontar, Urška Kos, Janez Burger, and Rado Likon – have decided to give the 2025 Milka and Metod Badjura Award to film editor Janez Bricelj. In his long and prolific career, Bricelj has collaborated on more than 170 film and television titles, creating an extensive body of varied film editing work. For his work on the feature film Piran – Pirano by director Goran Vojnović, he received the Vesna Award for Best Editing at the 2010 Festival of Slovenian Film. His mastery of editing techniques has left an indelible mark on Slovenian cinema. Our warmest congratulations to the award winner!
