V tistem \u010dasu so potrebovali asistenta monta\u017ee pri filmu Sre\u010da na vrvici (1977), katerega monta\u017eer je bil legendarni Du\u0161an Povh. Zaradi natan\u010dnosti in pozornosti, ki jo je namenil zvoku, je Bricelj kmalu iz asistenta monta\u017ee napredoval v monta\u017eerja zvoka. To je bila izjemno pomembna prelomnica v njegovem \u017eivljenju, saj je po tem projektu v vlogi monta\u017eerja zvoka deloval v prvih letih svoje profesionalne poti. Med filmi, pri katerih je sodeloval kot monta\u017eer zvoka, lahko izpostavimo Praznovanje pomladi (1978) re\u017eiserja Franceta \u0160tiglica, ki je na 25. Puljskem filmskem festivalu osvojil nagrado za najbolj\u0161i zvok.<\/p>\n<p>Leta 1980 mu je Viba film omogo\u010dil \u0161tudij ob delu na Fakulteti dramskih umetnosti v Beogradu. Prvi celove\u010derni film, pri katerem je sodeloval kot monta\u017eer, je bil Poletje v \u0161koljki 2 (1988) re\u017eiserja Tuga \u0160tiglica. V nadaljevanju kariere je montiral celove\u010derne filme \u0161tevilnih priznanih slovenskih filmskih ustvarjalcev, kot so Matja\u017e Klop\u010di\u010d, France \u0160tiglic, Metod Pevec, Marko Naber\u0161nik, Goran Vojnovi\u0107 idr.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container vc_col-sm-4\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t<div  class=\"wpb_single_image wpb_content_element vc_align_left  vc_custom_1759155490455\">\n\t\t\n\t\t<figure class=\"wpb_wrapper vc_figure\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"vc_single_image-wrapper   vc_box_border_grey\"><img width=\"1718\" height=\"1288\" src=\"https:\/\/fsf.si\/2025\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Janez-Bricelj_arhiv-SFC.jpg\" class=\"vc_single_image-img attachment-full\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/div>\n\t\t<\/figure>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\t<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element \" >\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t<p>Za svoje delo pri celove\u010dernem igranem filmu Piran &#8211; Pirano re\u017eiserja Gorana Vojnovi\u0107a je leta 2010 na Festivalu slovenskega filma prejel nagrado vesna za najbolj\u0161o monta\u017eo. Njegov opus zaznamuje tudi podpis pod monta\u017eo mnogih kratkih igranih, animiranih in dokumentarnih filmov, med katerimi je zagotovo treba izpostaviti film (A)torzija (2002) re\u017eiserja Stefana Arsenijevi\u0107a.<\/p>\n<p>Ker je svojo profesionalno pot za\u010del s snemanjem in monta\u017eo zvoka ter \u0161ele pozneje postal monta\u017eer slike, se pri delu z njim to \u0161e kako pozna. Po besedah njegovih stalnih sodelavcev film najraje primerja z glasbo. Film poslu\u0161a. Zanj je filmski trak na monta\u017eni mizi partitura, ki jo je treba sli\u0161ati in za\u010dutiti pravi ritem, v katerem bo najbolje zazvenela. Janez Bricelj pozna film do obisti, razume njegovo zapleteno naravo in predvsem to, kako ob\u010dutljiv je, kako lahko \u017ee vsaka odve\u010dna ali manjkajo\u010da sli\u010dica vse spremeni. S filmom zato ravna previdno, lahko znova in znova pregleduje posamezne posnetke, izbira najbolj\u0161e igralske izvedbe in dolo\u010da pravo dol\u017eino kadra in sekvence. Pri tem so potrebni potrpe\u017eljivost, marljivost in sposobnost za delo v skupini. Janez Bricelj vse te lastnosti ima in zato spada med najvidnej\u0161e filmske monta\u017eerje v Sloveniji.<\/p>\n<p>Poleg dela v profesionalnem okolju ne smemo spregledati tudi njegovega dela s \u0161tudenti Akademije za gledali\u0161\u010de, radio, film in televizijo. Sodeloval je pri ve\u010d kot 30 \u0161tudijskih filmih. Z gotovostjo lahko re\u010demo, da je sodelovanje z njim \u0161tudentom odpiralo meje mogo\u010dega v procesu monta\u017ee, kar se ka\u017ee tudi v uspe\u0161nem in plodnem nadaljevanju sodelovanja z nekaterimi od njih. Pri tem ni le montiral njihovih filmov, ampak jih je bogatil s svojim znanjem in izku\u0161njami ter nenazadnje tudi s svojo osebno dr\u017eo. Ta je bila vedno spo\u0161tljivo zadr\u017eana ter hkrati izjemno sodelovalna in naklonjena mladim ustvarjalkam in ustvarjalcem.<\/p>\n<p>Janez Bricelj je bil vedno zvest filmu in poklicu, ki od monta\u017eerja zahteva samostojno ustvarjalno dr\u017eo nekoga, ki se ne naslanja samo na scenarij, temve\u010d v posnetem materialu i\u0161\u010de predvsem potencial za dober film.<\/p>\n<p>Njegovo mojstrstvo v obvladovanju monta\u017enih tehnik je slovenski kinematografiji vtisnilo neizbrisen pe\u010dat, zato nagrado Milke in Metoda Badjure za \u017eivljenjsko delo v letu 2025 prejme Janez
