2024 Milka and Metod Badjura Award goes to Zvonka Makuc

The Festival of Slovenian Film Portorož traditionally presents an award for lifetime achievement in cinema. Last year, the name of the accolade was expanded to Milka and Metod Badjura Award to highlight the often-overlooked contribution of the film director and editor Milka Badjura, and symbolically reunite the leading Slovenian filmmaking couple, whose collaborative work is often impossible to separate or attribute to any one of them.

We are happy to announce that this year’s judges – Lija Pogačnik, Špela Čadež, Sonja Prosenc, Andrej Košak, and Milena Zupančič – have decided to give the 2024 Milka and Metod Badjura Award to costume designer Zvonka Makuc, whose work has contributed to numerous Slovenian and international feature films of various genres, many of which have won awards at film festivals.
