Commemorating the 50th death anniversary of František Čáp
REMEMBRANCE AFTERNOON IN MEMORY OF A MASTER OF SLOVENIAN CINEMA
The Slovenian film community, in collaboration with the Piran municipality, is organising a special event to pay homage to one of the leading filmmakers from the early days of Slovenian cinema. Having arrived from the Czech Republic as a well-established film director, František Čáp left a strong mark in the Slovenian film landscape in the later part of his life. His comedies Vesna and Don’t Whisper remain etched in the Slovenian collective psyche, also or above all among the people of Piran, where Čáp was buried after spending the last days of his life in this town.
